If you want clients to find you through ChatGPT and other AI tools
You know buyers are asking AI for recommendations and want your brand to be one of the names that comes up.
Find out why AI tools recommend your competitors instead of you.
I check how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Google's AI features answer the questions your buyers ask, whether they mention your brand, and what's stopping them. You get a clear, prioritized list of fixes — and, if you want, help putting them in place.
01 / The basics
An AI visibility audit is a review of how AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews see your brand: whether they mention you when buyers ask about your category, how accurately they describe you, which sources they rely on, and what's keeping you out of their answers.
More and more people ask AI tools for recommendations before they ever open Google: "What's the best tool for…", "Which agency should I hire for…", "Is [brand] any good?". If your brand isn't part of those answers, you lose buyers you never knew you had.
An SEO audit checks whether your pages can rank in search results. An AI visibility audit checks whether AI tools can read your content, understand what your business does, trust it and choose to quote it. The two overlap, but a site can do well in one and poorly in the other.
Three areas: your website (can AI crawlers access and read it?), your content (does it answer questions clearly enough to be quoted?) and your reputation across the web (do reviews, listings, articles and communities describe you consistently?). That last part is often where the biggest gaps are.
02 / When you need it
When AI answers are starting to influence how people choose a provider in your market, and you don't know what they say about you.
You know buyers are asking AI for recommendations and want your brand to be one of the names that comes up.
You asked ChatGPT or Perplexity about your category and got a list of competitors, without you.
AI tools mention you, but with outdated pricing, old features, the wrong location or a service you no longer offer.
Your pages rank well, yet AI Overviews and chat answers quote other websites on the same topic.
Impressions look fine, but clicks are down because AI answers the question before people reach your site.
A new product, market or name, and you want AI tools to understand it correctly from the start.
03 / Process
Every audit follows the same seven steps, so findings are based on evidence, not on a few test prompts.
We agree on the questions, comparisons and "best of" searches your buyers use, in their own words, grouped by product or service.
I run each question, in several variations, across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Google's AI features, and record who gets mentioned, how you're described and which sources are cited.
Who shows up most often, which of their pages and third-party sources AI relies on, and where the gap between you and them is biggest.
Crawler access and robots.txt rules, page rendering, site structure, schema markup and the other technical basics AI tools need.
Whether key pages give clear, direct answers, show real expertise and cover the questions buyers ask, or leave AI to find the answer elsewhere.
Reviews, directories, comparison articles, communities like Reddit and other sources AI trusts, and whether they describe you consistently.
Findings become a short, ranked list of changes by impact and effort, delivered with a walkthrough call so your team knows exactly where to start.
04 / Deliverables
Four clear outputs, written for the people who'll act on them, not a 50-page report that sits in a folder.
Where your brand appears for each key question in each AI tool, how it's described, and real examples of the answers.
Which competitors AI recommends instead of you, and the pages and sources that put them there.
The technical, content and reputation issues that keep AI tools from reading, trusting or quoting you.
The changes that will make the biggest difference first, sorted by impact and effort, with a walkthrough call.
05 / Audit vs. strategy
The audit tells you what's wrong and what to fix first. The strategy is how the fixes get done, month by month, either by your team with my guidance or by me. You can start with the audit alone and decide on the next step once you've seen the findings.
You want to know where you stand and what to fix.

Need something different? Every plan can be adjusted. If you only want a few priority pages checked, need a faster turnaround, already have an SEO team for the technical fixes or want help with off-site mentions only, I'll put together a scope that fits and price it to match. 06 / FAQ
Need content built for AI search from the start? See Content Strategy or Blog Management.
It helps, but it isn't enough. Tools like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT search and Perplexity often pull from pages that already rank, yet they choose the pages that answer most clearly and look most trustworthy. Plenty of brands rank on page one and are still left out of the AI answer.
AI answers change with the wording of the question, the tool's settings, your location and whether the tool searches the web. That's why a single test prompt proves very little. The audit checks many variations of each question across several tools to find patterns, not one-off results.
Only if you have a clear reason, such as protecting paid content. Blocking AI crawlers can keep your pages out of the sources those tools use to answer questions. The audit checks your current settings and explains what each rule allows or blocks.
It's quick to add, but no major AI company has confirmed that it uses llms.txt to choose sources. It won't fix visibility on its own. Clear content, a crawlable site and a consistent reputation across the web matter far more.
Tools that search the web in real time, like Perplexity, ChatGPT search and Google AI Overviews, can reflect changes within a few weeks once your pages are re-crawled. What models "know" from training updates much more slowly, often over several months.
They overlap. AEO (answer engine optimization) is about making your own pages easy for AI to quote. GEO (generative engine optimization) also covers what other websites say about you. AI visibility is the result of both: whether AI tools mention, describe and recommend your brand.
Your website, your main competitors and the products or services you most want to be known for. Access to Google Search Console or analytics is helpful but optional; if you share it, it's read-only and agreed on before work begins.
No. AI companies decide how their tools choose sources, and those systems change often. What I can do is remove the blockers I find, strengthen the signals AI tools rely on and track whether your brand appears more often over time.
